But what about when you’re looking for something for the whole weekend. One of our favorite weekend activities is to spend the weekend camping. Whether you’re looking for something a little close to home or a longer adventure away, Colorado has it all. Today, we’ve gathered a few of our favorites to help you choose your next camping trip.

1) Ridgeway State Park
You’ll find Ridgeway State Park is a splendid natural treasure nestled at the foot of the San Juan Mountains in southwestern Colorado. And because there is so much space and beauty to see, they have nearly 300 campsites across three campgrounds. Where you can bring your tent or RV. Or consider checking out one of the three year-round yurts they have for reservation.
2) Mueller State Park
Mueller State Park is 5,117 acres featuring a spring-fed meadow and diverse forest, that simply can’t be explored in just one day. Which makes it the perfect place to spend the whole weekend. And with 130 camps sites and cabins for when you don’t feel like sleeping in a tent, you are sure to find exactly what you need to relax this weekend.

3) Bear Lake Campground
Located in the Pike-San Isabel National Forest & Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands, Bear Lake Campground is sat in the middle of everything. Go on a casual stroll along a shimmering lake or discover history as you trek along the dinosaur tracks. Then when the day is done, head back to the campground with 88 options to choose from for a relaxing night.
4) Cheyenne Mountain State Park
When you need to renew your spirit and connect with the outdoors, then you need to consider a weekend at Cheyenne Mountain State Park. You’ll have miles and miles of trails to explore with stunning views that will have you wanting to come back time and time again. And with the 61 campsites, you can do just that.
5) Mesa Verde National Park
Mesa Verde National Park offers so many beautiful sites to see. Along with tons of history to be explored on your weekend away. Which is why they offer a stunning campground to stay at while you’re there. You’ll find there are 267 sites, including options for hookups and tents. Making it certain you’ll to find exactly what you need to elevate your camping experience.
